Saturday morning at Lough Muckno was also the setting for the first introduction of the FLOAT YOUR SOAP event which attracted several hundred on lookers.  This was a hilarious event which included mild scenes of nudity and skulduggery to examples of craftsman ship.  I suppose it was a case of you must having to be there.

“The Shane Tyres – FLOAT YOUR SOAP” replaced last years event “The Soap Box Derby”.   This year’s race went OFF ROAD and was held as a form of raft race on Lough Muckno on Saturday 16th July. Where amphibious vehicles went from land to water and   back again.                                         Pictured right is Conor Hughes, Paddy Duffy & Paul Duffy who where our WINNERS in this new event "Float Your Soap Box" which took place on Saturday morning 16th July at Lough Muckno. 

This NEW event proved to be a SPLASHTACULAR entertaining spectacle during the Muckno Mania Festival lots of participants (six entries pictured right) and spectators turning out to support this novel event on the day.

Rules & Guidelines
٠ Any person under 14 years of age must be accompanied by  an Adult
٠ Each Team must have 2-4 members.
٠ Each member of team must wear a life jacket (NOT supplied by race organisers)
٠ Soap Box / Raft must be capable of travelling 50meters on land.
٠ Brakes or steering are not compulsory.
٠ Soap Box / Raft must be capable of splashing into water & completing a 300 meter
   course on water.
٠ Soap Box / Raft must be no higher than 1800mm when in water.
٠ No length or width restriction.
٠ Soap Box / Raft can not be mechanically propelled.
٠ Fancy Dress encouraged.
٠ Entry €40.00 per Team.
